Unlock Your Intuition – Top 4 Oracle Card Decks for Beginners
It can be difficult to choose Oracle Card decks as there are many on the market. The following article will discuss the best oracle cards for beginners. It will focus on discussing four of my personal favourites. They are practical and easy to use for someone that is starting to read Oracle cards for themselves or others. They all have beautiful energies and provide positive, supportive and empowering messages.
I still have all four of these decks in my own personal collection and find they incorporate well with other cards. You can read the Oracle card decks individually or collectively. By using more than one deck, the depth of the reading will be more heightened and provide further guidance.
Daily Guidance from the Angels Oracle Cards
I have used these cards for quite some time now. In fact, they were my very first deck that started my journey. It is certainly a great way to start to understand the phenomenon of the angels. Daily Guidance from the Angels by Doreen Virtue is stunning and easy to learn and use.
These Oracle Cards have beautifully illustrated cards of Angels that provide uplifting and encouraging messages. There are 44 cards in this deck accompanied by a Guidebook that gives you the meaning of each individual card. This gives you the opportunity to dive right in with confidence.
The deck is grounded in the beautiful energy of the Angels, predominantly the Guardian Angels. The Guidebook immediately draws you in if there is a genuine interest to work with the Angels. It states ” Your guardian angels are always with you, even when you are not aware of their presence. These angels want to help you with every aspect of your life.” This deck would suit anyone who would like to work with the Angels closely.
Work your light Oracle Cards
This stunning Oracle Deck will help you find the light within your soul and share it with everyone that comes into your life. These cards are absolutely breathtaking and that is what initially captured my attention. I love the themes on the cards that are mainly a pastel aesthetic, stunning flowers, starry nights that have a soft disposition.
It appears that the creator is going for a divine feminine energy. The cards are fantastic at answering very specific questions that provide quick and efficient guidance. It is a 44 card deck with a matte finish that comes with an accompanying Guide Book by Rebecca Campbell.
Initially, when you first start using this Guidebook it can be quite difficult finding the designated message. This is predominantly due to the dull appearance of book which is in black and white. This is further complicated due to the five different suits which are:
1. Confirmation – Gives quick guidance
2. Inquiry – Tune into the whispers of your soul
3. Action – Advice on action to take
4. Transmission – Connect to supportive energies
5. Activation – They invoke healing within you
This is unique to this deck which gives them their own identity and authenticity. I personally like this exclusive touch but can see how it could be confusing especially when you first start using them. But once you get over the hurdle, these cards are brilliant.
Moonology Oracle Cards
I felt instantly connected to the Moonology Oracle Cards as the concept of looking to the moon for clarity and guidance felt like the right fit. The cards are beautiful with striking artwork that is both gorgeous and soothing coupled with beyond accurate messages. The cards are quite reminiscent of looking at the moon on a dark starry night which evokes a serenity and calm. As the name suggests the pictures represent different cycles of the moon such as the waxing crescent moon, waxing moon to name a few.
I consult these cards quite often and they have never failed to answer my question. This deck comes with 44 cards and a Guide book by Yasmin Boland. The guidebook is really helpful to gain basic insight of the message that applies to your particular situation. If you have an important decision to make, the moon can guide you with its magical energies and influence. This would suit anyone that is interested in astrology and the moon cycles.
I find the meanings of the card quite simple which gives the reader flexibility when interpreting the message to their question. I could see how this may appear to be an issue for someone that is just starting because they may just want to rely heavily on the Guide book. But the messages in the Guide book have little meaning or similar meanings to each other. I would recommend that the reader just use it as a platform to gain the creators main message and then develop it from there by relying on your intuition.
Spirit of the Animals Oracle
It did not take long to feel the connection with these cards. This is such a spectacular Oracle card deck that will take you on an adventure to learn about 51 different animal helpers and discover their messages. It also comes with 1 personal card, power animals spreads sheet and a Guidebook by Jody Bergsma.
If you happen to choose the personal power card, you can ask your intuition what it means specifically to you. I feel the addition of this card can make your reading more informative and interesting. We can often rely on the Guidebook to provide the messages applicable, but this makes us dig a little deeper and find the answers ourselves.
The images of the animals are absolutely beautiful and the addition of the messages just under the card give a quick snapshot of the essence of the meaning which is a nice touch. The cards themselves are on the larger side which I appreciate as it gives you the opportunity to truly appreciate the gorgeous art work.
Conclusion
The four oracle decks discussed in this article are some of my favourites. They all have beautiful images and encouraging and helpful messages. I still feel that the Angel Oracle deck is one of my favourites as it has a special place in my heart due to being my first.
If you are interested to work with the magical energies of the moon, the beautiful magnetism of the animal kingdom, the ethereal angels or find the light within, these would be perfect when you start or a great addition to your growing collection of Oracle card decks. Let them guide you on your journey to help yourself and others.
I would highly recommend all four decks!

Thank you for the very informative article on Best Oracle Cards For Beginners Starlight, it opened my eyes a little as I was ignorant these cards even existed prior to reading your article and am certain this overview of your favorites will be extremely helpful to those browsing the web in search of this type of content.
You mentioned with each deck, it didn’t take long before you started feeling a connections with the cards. Is this fairly common or is the opposite sometimes true? I’m just curious how this sort of thing normally works.
In my experience it has been fairly common to have a connection with the oracle card decks. But there have also been times when I have looked or picked up a deck and known that I was not quite interested in purchasing them. But ultimately, you will know if you want the deck if you listen to your intuition.
I guess it is quite similar when you purchase a book. There are some books that just jump off the shelf while others do not grab your attention at all. The same experience can occur with oracle card decks, but the only difference is that you connect with them and they can guide you on your journey of life.
But everyones experience is different and you just need to go with what feels right to you. There are the right or wrong questions.

There is a wealth of information that you can find on the internet regarding Oracle Cards. There are also a number of other tools that you can use such as tarot cards, pendulums and crystals for self discovery and personal growth.
You can combine all of them too which will make the messages and guidance more profound. I tend to read a lot of books that help me gain more knowledge and understanding especially when reading the cards for yourself and others.

Hello Pasindu,
I personally have found a number of decks resonate with me. If I was to choose one specifically, it would be ‘Spirit Animal oracle cards’. I resonate with this deck because I love animals. I find that the energy is both gentle and powerful.
As you can imagine, there are a number of animals included. From the dolphin that symbolises harmony and playfulness, joy and intelligence. While the elephant represents abundance, loyalty and family. They act as a guiding light for insight and guidance.

Thank you for stopping by and showing interest in oracle cards.
I didn’t realize that you get different cards for beginners. I was under the impression that the cards all conveyed the same messages with different artwork. Are the beginner’s cards easier to make out when it comes to the message or answer the cards are giving?
I really liked the cards with the lovely art work on the last article you did, but would these be too advanced for beginners?
Hello Michel,
That is a great observation! Yes, beginner oracle decks often feature simpler imagery and clearer symbolism to help newcomers grasp the meanings more easily. The intention is to provide a gentler introduction to the world of oracle, making it more accessible for those just starting their journey.
I am not sure what article you are referencing, but some images and messages may be potentially challenging for beginners, but it is all about personal preference. Some beginners may still find joy and connection with more elaborate decks, while others might prefer the simplicity of beginner-friendly cards. It is essential to choose a deck that resonates with you and supports your learning style.
Happy exploring on your journey!
Blessings and Abundance!
